Organization
The Museum of Contemporary Art, ”Word, image, sound” in Roskilde
is an independent institution financed by Roskilde City and the Danish State.
The museum is driven according to existing laws for a state-recognized museum.
The museum is part of Danmark’s public heritage with consequent obligations of cooperation and mutual support. Moreover the museum has a consulting role for Roskilde City regarding artistic matters.
The museum’s Board of Directors consists of seven members, two of them are appointed by Roskilde City Council, four are appointed by Klub Samtidskunst, including one chosen among the museum’s founders.
The museum is directed by an art historian with extensive research within contemporary art.
The museum’s daily work is managed by six employees, among them three museum curators with academic education, together with project assistants, vigilators, apprentices and volunteers.
The museum has an association of friends named Klub Samtidskunst, whose members support its principal ideas and help with the widening of its activities.
