Workshop
Grab your favorite stuffed animal and explore the exhibition Kaååråålines Verses with your family.
We follow visual artist Karoline Ebbesen’s dotted white stitches from her own lifetime a hundred years ago to today, where many artists still work with inspiration from her creative universe filled with moons, one-winged angels, and intricate alphabets. Today’s family fun offers two creative workshops and family fun.
Creative workshop
At the creative workshop, you can settle down in the large creative workshop, which we are setting up for today’s occasion. Here you can build, paint, sew, sculpt, and embroider based on the ideas of artist Karoline Ebbesen and create your own works of art, which you are welcome to take home with you.
Family tour
At 2 p.m., a family and stuffed animal tour will begin, where we will explore Karoline Ebbesen’s visual world, which we will experience, describe, and discuss with our stuffed animals and family members. And who knows, maybe other stuffed animals will show up on the tour that you can meet and get inspiration from?

Kaååråålines Verses
The exhibition Kaååråålines Vers (Kaååråålines Verses) is the Roskilde Museum of Contemporary Art’s autumn exhibition, displayed in Kurhuset, located in the former Sankt Hans Hospital, where the artist Karoline Ebbesen lived from the mid-1880s until her death in 1936. During her long hospitalization, Ebbesen produced works in textiles, embroidery, collage, drawing, and text, and developed her own font and alphabet. The exhibition presents Ebbesen’s works alongside new large-scale installations by Danish and international artists, all with direct references to Ebbesen.
