Moving through both natural elements and artworks, we trace the imprints of magical thinking embedded in the history of the Sct. Hans area. The tour unfolds as a walk — from the soil of Sct. Hans Garden, along the field paths, and onward to Kurhuset, where the exhibition resides.

About the exhibition
At the intersection of mental health and contemporary art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde presents its fifth exhibition at Sankt Hans, featuring an extensive group exhibition with new and existing works by Ana Mendieta, Melanie Kitti, and Liz Magic Lazer, and more. Et stjernehus uden sol (translated: a star house without a sun) brings together works in which magic, myth, and minds in turmoil are woven into everyday narratives. The exhibition examines the relationship between trauma and magical thinking. 

The exhibition’s programme includes performances, concerts, guided tours, creative workshops for all ages, reading groups, and much more.
