Guided Tour

Kunst på barsel x The Sound of Clara Mosconi

In collaboration with Kunst på Barsel, we invite you to a listening session and artist talk with Clara Mosconi, in a format tailored to you, on maternaty leave and your baby.

Join us, together with your baby, for an intimate listening session and conversation with artist and new mother Clara Mosconi, who created the immersive sound and video installation Between Two Tongues (2026).

Interested in sounds and meanings that exist beyond written language, Between Two Tongues explores the often overlooked possibilities of language. Through voices, pauses, misunderstandings and moments when words are not quite enough, the work explores language as something living, sensory and relational.

Clara, who is also a new mother herself, will talk about her work with identity, multilingualism and belonging – and about how our first encounters with language begin long before we can speak ourselves. What does it mean to be closely connected through sounds, rhythms and voices, before words arrive?

We will spread out blankets, serve coffee and adapt the sound level, pace and space to both babies and parents.

Kunst på barsel is an initiative creating art and cultural experiences for parents on maternity leave and their babies. With a focus on presence, community and embracing the unpredictable, they invite parents to experience culture in a relaxed, baby-friendly setting.

Food and drinks: Coffee, tea and snacks will be served
Accessibility: The exhibition space has several stairs, so we recommend leaving prams under the large stretched sailcloth in the courtyard of Gasværket. Our museum hosts will keep an eye on the courtyard during the event and can let you know if any sleeping babies start to wake up.

About the exhibition

The Sound of focuses on the poetic, political and social potentials of sound in contemporary art, presenting works by an array of international and Danish artists including Hajra Waheed, Hanne Lippard, Clara Mosconi, Julian Abraham ‘Togar’, Emeka Ogboh, Cally Spooner, Francesco Fonassis, Arendse Krabbe and Annika Kahrs.

Through voices, rhythms, language and vibrations, the exhibition opens experiences that move between the intimate and the collective, between body and space, between listening and action. The exhibition presents several newly produced works together with a programme of performances, talks and activities. Explore the programme here.

The exhibition has been created in collaboration with Moderna Museet Malmö.
