Guided Reading
Take an important break from everyday life and enjoy a unique literary experience when Roskilde Libraries hold four joint readings in connection with the Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde’s autumn exhibition Kaååråålines Verses.
For this reading session, we will immerse ourselves in texts inspired by the exhibition. The group reading will be led by the library’s reading guide, Rikke, who will read aloud from selected short stories and poems. No preparation is required to participate. Just come, listen, and join in. You can participate however you like – you can share your thoughts with the rest of us, or you can just listen quietly. And enjoy an hour and a half in safe and peaceful company.
Guided group reading is a method of reading literature that focuses on the experience we have together. The reading guide always reads aloud and selects the texts. Therefore, you do not need to prepare anything or know anything about literature to participate. During the reading, the reading guide takes breaks and we talk about what we have heard.

Kaååråålines Verses
The exhibition Kaååråålines Vers (Kaååråålines Verses) is on display at Kurhuset, located in the former Sankt Hans Hospital, where artist Karoline Ebbesen lived from the mid-1880s until her death in 1936. During her long hospitalization, Ebbesen produced works in textiles, embroidery, collage, drawing, and text, and developed her own font and alphabet. The exhibition presents Ebbesen’s works alongside new large-scale installations by Danish and international artists, all with direct references to Ebbesen.
