Civis Bloomcraft opens with confetti blast and performance
The Spring exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Roskilde opens with a large scale performance at Roskilde’s annual Light Festival. Apparatus 22 will present their piece Positive Tensions (in the air). At first glance, the work appears to be a massive explosion of confetti, but hidden within the colorful fragments are critical reflections in the form of questions written on the back of each piece. These questions aim to spark curiosity about the city’s hidden potentials, rhythms, and mysteries.
Later, you can experience Positive Tension as a series of circular lightboxes placed in public spaces across Roskilde. With hope and humor, these glowing signs quietly weave themselves into the city’s everyday life and conversations, inviting the public to engage in new ways.
Apparatus 22: The artist collective describes itself as a group of dreamers, poetic activists, and (failed) futurists, comprising Maria Farcas, Dragos Olea, Erika Olea, and Ioana Nemes (1979-2011). They are based in Bucharest, Brussels, and Suprainfinit, a utopian universe. For Apparatus 22 everything is up for negotiation and reinterpretation, experimenting with both form and content. Their works span from installations to performances, and texts. Time and space are reimagined and reassembled as the entire city of Roskilde becomes a stage for this exhibition, with works presented across public and private spaces throughout the spring.
