Sound lab x Kreativt Hus for Børn
Join us as the exhibition’s creative sound universe Lydlaboratoriet moves into Kreativt Hus for Børn on Algade. In this creative workshop, you can build your own mysterious, wondrous and strange creature and give it a completely unique voice. Together, we explore how much personality, atmosphere and storytelling different sounds can carry, and how sound can become an exciting layer in an artwork.
Join us as the exhibition’s creative sound universe Lydlaboratoriet moves into Kreativt Hus for børn on Algade. In this creative workshop, you can build your own mysterious, wondrous and strange creature and give it a voice. Should it be soft and humming, crackling or rattling, squeaky or rumbling, buzzing or full of secrets? You decide.
Together, we explore how much personality different sounds can carry, and how sound can be used to tell stories through art.
The museum is hosting a special workshop in the workshop space at Kreativt Hus for Børn on Saturday, 7 November, from 10.00 – 13.00.
Food and drink: Packed lunches may be enjoyed in the basement
Accessibility: Ramps are available for door thresholds. The elevator provides access to all floors. The high tables in the workshop are 80 cm high, allowing wheelchair users to sit underneath. The ground-floor toilet is an accessible toilet with a changing table.
About the exhibition
The Sound of focuses on the poetic, political and social potentials of sound in contemporary art, presenting works by an array of international and Danish artists including Hajra Waheed, Hanne Lippard, Clara Mosconi, Julian Abraham ‘Togar’, Emeka Ogboh, Cally Spooner, Francesco Fonassis, Arendse Krabbe and Annika Kahrs.
Through voices, rhythms, language and vibrations, the exhibition opens experiences that move between the intimate and the collective, between body and space, between listening and action. The exhibition presents several newly produced works together with a programme of performances, talks and activities. Explore the programme here.

An exhibition placing sound at the centre of contemporary art and brings together international artists to explore how it shapes space, carries memory, disturbs silence and much more. Through voices, rhythms, languages and vibrations, the works move between the intimate and the collective, between body and space, between listening and action.

Join us for a free guided tour of the exhibition with one of our art guides. During the tour, we dive into the exhibition concept and explore the role of sound in contemporary art today, stopping along the way at selected works.
The sound of autumn break
During the autumn break, we invite children and families on a listening adventure through the exhibition – and the city. Crawl through a giant ear, train your listening ears, create sound artworks together, and explore strange, magical and funky ways of listening.
Special Guided tour: The Sound of Hajra Waheed
Join us as we slow down in a guided tour focusing on a single work: HUM (2020) by Hajra Waheed. In this format, we listen slowly, attentively and with the entire body, exploring the many layers of voices, history and storytelling contained within the work.
