On June 26, 1847, the railway line between Copenhagen and Roskilde was opened, the first railway in the Danish kingdom. In connection with this, Roskilde Station was built by architect J.F. Meyer. The main building still exists and is now Denmark’s oldest station building.
Roskilde Station is centrally located in the city and is used by around 30,000 passengers daily. In the main building, you will find the old and abandoned ticket office, which the museum has converted into an exhibition space.
