Exhibition opening
Join the celebration of the exhibition's opening, when the we open the exhibition with a special guided tour, performances, and afterparty with DJs.
Artist talk: Hajra Waheed and Athena Farrokhzad
Meet multidisciplinary artist Hajra Waheed together with writer and literary critic Athena Farrokhzad in a conversation about hope, resistance, and community. The conversation is moderated by journalist and author Jakob Sheikh and is created in collaboration with Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke/Action Aid Denmark.
Saturday Tours
Join us for a free guided tour of the exhibition with one of our art guides. During the tour, we dive into the exhibition concept and explore the role of sound in contemporary art today, stopping along the way at selected works.
The sound of autumn break
During the autumn break, we invite children and families on a listening adventure through the exhibition – and the city. Crawl through a giant ear, train your listening ears, create sound artworks together, and explore strange, magical and funky ways of listening.
Special Guided tour: The Sound of Hajra Waheed
Join us as we slow down in a guided tour focusing on a single work: HUM (2020) by Hajra Waheed. In this format, we listen slowly, attentively and with the entire body, exploring the many layers of voices, history and storytelling contained within the work.
Guided Listening Session: A Space for Listening
Join Bureau for Listening and curator as they opens new pathways into the museum’s sound archive in A Space for Listening.
Gasværket by night
Experience The Sound of after dark, when Gasværket opens its doors for an evening of sound, art and mystery. Explore the exhibition through introductory tours and guided listening sessions, or join a lantern walk to Sankt Ib’s Church Ruin, where Hanne Lippard’s Vox Humana (2026) awaits.
Special guided tour with the curator
Join a special tour with the museum’s director and exhibition curator Christian Skovbjerg Jensen, who takes a deep dive into the exhibition’s concept. During the tour, Christian will focus on selected works and explore the role of sound in contemporary art; an element that is taking up an increasingly prominent space.
Sound lab x Kreativt Hus for Børn
Join us as the exhibition’s creative sound universe Lydlaboratoriet moves into Kreativt Hus for Børn on Algade. In this creative workshop, you can build your own mysterious, wondrous and strange creature and give it a completely unique voice. Together, we explore how much personality, atmosphere and storytelling different sounds can carry, and how sound can become an exciting layer in an artwork.
Kunst på barsel x The Sound of Clara Mosconi
In collaboration with Kunst på Barsel, we invite you to a listening session and artist talk with Clara Mosconi, in a format tailored to you, on maternaty leave and your baby.
